PADMA BOGARD
After spending 10 years working to develop rural communities around the world we returned home Kansas City. We began discussing how to use what we knew of Micro-Finance & Community Development to help marginalized families here in Kansas City. The first and biggest obstacle we noticed was the lack relationships in neighborhoods today. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a local neighborhood that contained 20+ boys in my same grade. I can still to this day tell you the names of every family that lived in our neighborhood. Neighborhoods are what makes a city
Deep inside every Parent's heart they want to provide for their children on their own, without assistance. My desire is to help them get to that point. With that desire on my heart, I founded REAL KC. We’re all looking to make a difference in our world and together we can.
f you have able hands, we want your help. Whether it's serving food aid in a kitchen, painting walls of a newly repaired home, or collecting donations, we need you. And so do communities in need.
We're continually working hard to improve communities throughout the state. If you're interested to see what we've been doing recently (especially if you want to help), check out our project list.
We have a simple, but robust mission: to help people in need. We do that by focusing on community-based efforts that organize, mobilize, educate, and revitalize individuals, families and neighborhoods, .
