At REAL KC, we aim to engage those who are marginalized, underprivileged, and underserved to rebuild, restructure and revitalize their lives and neighborhoods. Our focus is three pronged: whole health education, economic development, and co-operative structure. Our community efforts include "Block by Block" home rehabilitation, Micro-Mortgage Programs, formation of Block Wise Associations and larger Neighborhood Co-Operatives, Neighborhood Transformation Training and Whole Health Education, and Economic revitalization projects (improved local access to food and products). We firmly believe it takes a village to raise a child, and an Educated, Empowered and Equipped community will move themselves up and out of poverty.
